About Shockles
THE SHOCKLE® was invented by a group of experienced sailors while sailing down the west coast of Baja in 40 knots of wind and 20' following seas. SHOCKLES were rigged all over the boat and suddenly instead of a constant snapping, crashing and pounding on the rigging, the boat was sailing silently and smoothly.
SHOCKLES is a brand of SIMPLY BRILLIANT LLC, a small design and manufacturing company based in Hood River, Oregon. We have no employees, only owners. Thus we each take a great deal of pride in what we do and how we do it. Each owner brings a special skill to the company; we have engineers, product and graphic designers, draftsmen and machinists, writers, photographers and PR managers, patent and business attorneys, accountants, sales personnel and managers, stock and inventory people and yes, even a banker. Sound like a lot of people? It isn't: most of us wear at least three different hats.
The goals of the company are structured around three basic tenets:
1. We produce energy efficient, environmentally sound products
2. We manufacture in a socially conscious, environmentally friendly manner
3. We're in business to have fun, and in the process, hopefully make money. We will take the time to enjoy life along the way, undoubtedly making for a more efficient, energetic and successful company
Overall, every member of our company is environmentally conscious. We work very hard to keep our packaging-especially plastics and non-recyclable materials-to a bare minimum.
The opportunity is ripe for a venture such as ours to grow and succeed; we have the ideas, we have the personnel, we have the energy. As many people in the past year have noted when presented with our ideas, "Simply Brilliant!"
