SHOCKLES USES
Accidental Jibe Preventer
Tired of worrying about an accidental jibe when running downwind in your sailboat? Don’t like the constant snap or potential boom damage of a static preventer? An article by SailNet® seamanship columnist, John Rousmaniere, recommends the use of a dynamic preventer and there's no better tool than the SHOCKLES. Just rig an 18" or 24" F2 or F3 SHOCKLE between your boom and preventer line and you'll be amazed at how quiet and shock-free your rig will become. Be sure to always rig your main preventer line as a safety between the SHOCKLES and the boom (as shown in the photo).
